Why a Tiaré flower as a symbol?

The Tiaré Apetahi grows only in Raiatea, one of the Society Islands, in the Temehani Mountains.  The flower is snow- white, giving a subtle scent.  As all Tiaré flowers, it represents the heart and soul of Tahiti, symbol of distant paradise.  A small white star, it epitomizes the joy of living.

In a world where the spoken word is at the heart of human relations, this flower gave birth to numerous legends where it symbolizes love and creation.
